About Nakiya

Nakiya has had a very crooked path leading her to coaching. In her younger years, she had a number of odd jobs in the retail and service industries. Anyone who has ever worked in the service industry knows that you learn far more about people that way than in most psychology classes. After turning down an offer to run her own convenience store, she decided to go back to school as an adult. She got her associate degree in Accounting along with an entrepreneurial certificate in 2008. She completed her bachelor's degree in 2012, majoring in accounting and minoring in Economics and Business Administration.

After a couple of odd accounting jobs, she landed in the corporate world doing the job of her dreams. She became a Certified Internal Auditor in 2020 and began managing her own internal audit team in 2021 and continues to do so today. It was Nakiya's passion for helping those on her team learn to build confidence and thrive in challenging situations that made her want to become a professional coach. She earned her credentials as a Master Certified Professional Life Coach in 2024 and was then trained as a Positive Intelligence(PQ) Coach.

Nakiya uses the PQ Operating System as the framework for all of her coaching practices, not to mention, in her own life. It has been a significant factor in her continued growth and expansion. Nakiya has self-diagnosed neurodivergence and she loves building community with others who are also neuro-spicy.

There are so many unique life experiences and beliefs that shape people into who they are and Nakiya is no exception to that rule. She was born in the early 1980's, came out as a lesbian in 1999, and officially came out as polyamorous by orientation in 2023. She experienced mental and physical abuse as a child which had a significant impact on her attachment style development and hyper-independence. Her spiritual deep dive started in 2023 and has included an incredible reconnection with all of the natural cycles of the universe and her Clair senses.

While Nakiya is confident in her ability to coach anyone, she believes strongly that both coach and client should align energetically before working together. This helps ensure that it is the best possible experience for both client and coach.
